Knoxville Senior Photographer – Andrea Larsen Photo bio picture

Andrea Larsen Photo {the blog}

Welcome to my blog and thank you for looking at my work!  I am a natural light photographer in Maryville & Knoxville TN. I specialize in High School Senior photography.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in studio art.  My concentration was drawing.  I am an artist.

My love for photography blossomed naturally with my desire to capture the brilliance of my children.  They are delightful little creatures and are used to having a camera in their faces.

My favorite images to capture are full of motion and emotion.  Which is why I LOVE working with HS seniors.  They are so full of life and excitement.  Seniors will do any crazy thing I ask them to do and I love them for it!

I always have the best time ever on a photo shoot.  Every time!  It's awesome.

Jones family! | Maryville TN family photographer

Meet the Jones family!  I have been dying to go to this field forever!!! I love how the red of the tall grass looks and it worked perfect with their outfits! I love Stacy’s dress so so much! Plus, it’s always fun to do a session with friends!

Emma! | Maryville HS class of 2012!

I had a great time with Emma.  I love the contrast of her porcelain skin and her dark hair.  She is off either now or soon to look at some colleges! It sure is an exciting time and I love getting to be a part of it!

baby Pax is 3 months old! | Maryville TN baby photographer

Can you believe that little cutie newborn in my blog header up there is already 3 months old!? He’s such a sweetie! Those eyes, that smile, those rolls!  Love it!

Carmen! Heritage HS Class of 2012 | Maryville TN HS senior photographer

Carmen was an absolute dream to work with!  She was a natural in front of the camera and her skin is flawless.  Plus she is very fun to spend time with.  Thanks so much Carmen!

Nick | MHS class of 2012

It has been the best photo shoot weather lately!  We did this session at Nick’s house.  It was a gorgeous place for photos.  Good luck with the rest of the football season, Nick!

Casey | Nashville HS Senior Photography

Meet gorgeous Casey!  Actually, she’s been on this blog before when I took her family photos last year.  Casey plays Rugby for Ravenwood HS and she has two state champ rings to show for it! And also, another fun Casey factoid…she has painted her toe nails in the exact same way for the past three years!  She was fun and they did a great job scoping out a fun location.   Just your simple four million dollar home.  It was for sale.  Casey’s mom was cracking me up the whole time taking photos with her phone of the house for ideas for her own house.  I love this first shot. It’s my favorite.

bun number 3 in the oven | Nashville TN family photography

So…You’ve seen my friend Annie before.  She’s cute, right! But what you don’t know is how funny she is and how much she makes me laugh.  Serious huge belly laughs bigger than I have ever laughed with anyone else on the planet ever.  Man, I miss living next door to you Annie!  The day I met her she was outside painting chairs and I knew I would like anyone who was painting chairs.  So I went to introduce myself.  About 30 minutes later she dives into this whole thing about how yellow really should be a neutral.   We’ve been friends ever since.

So speaking of belly laughs…Annie wanted a picture from her point of view.  You know, how you can barely see your feet.  Well in order to do this I (kinda without warning) stood on a chair behind her (she knew that part) but then I popped my head right next to hers and wrapped my arms around her (to use my camera).  Maybe you had to be there but it was funny.  I quickly realized that was not going to work.  Try as I might, it was impossible for me to actually take it from her point of view.  But I think I got pretty darn close without being her second head!

This one below was just a passing moment, but I kinda love it.  Sweet.

So speaking of Annie and her crazy ideas (yellow a neutral, really?)  She had the food idea above.  Love. And then their was this steamy shot from their session last fall.  And she thought it’d be funny to recreate it.  You know, before and after!  So I went looking at those past shoots and I can’t believe I didn’t post that one! What was I thinking?  Any way.  Here it is.  Steamy before and afters!

This last one is my fav.

Rose and Caleb

My baby sister is engaged! I’m happy for you Rose!  I had a blast with these two. They are cute together! Plus they both have amazing skin!  That certainly made the editing breezy!  I love how sophisticated they look all dressed up.  My favorite picture is the last one. Seems like that happens a lot with me.  But then I also love the one where he has his arms around her and they are both looking at the camera framed with the red brick archway.  What do you think? CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO!  xxxooo  Oh, and thanks to my brother Sam for helping us find this location and being my assistant for this shoot!

Holland | Maryville TN children photographer

Meet cutie pie Holland!  She is gorgeous and I love the clothes her mom picked out for her. I have a huge weakness for converse sneakers myself!  One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to really stare someone down for a good long time!  But seriously. I really get to notice the unique beauty in my clients.  After staring at Holland’s cute little face for an hour during our shoot and then 3 more hours on my computer during editing time I finally realized that she has two different colored eyes.  And let’s face it….that’s just the coolest thing ever! Check out the last shot…that is thanks to Lori for dancing around and doing who knows what behind me right in the middle of downtown Maryville!  Thanks Lori!  It was a pleasure meeting you both!

Jonah

Remember my gorgeous friend Erin and her sweet baby boy?  I can’t believe Jonah’s turned one! Happy (late) birthday!
